Many in Salt Lake Marathon run in honor of Boston • Much about the 10th annual Salt Lake City marathon honored Boston, the site of deadly bombings earlier that week. Runners said they had never seen so much enthusiasm from the spectators at the Salt Lake race.

Alleged Boston bomber boxed in an SLC tournament in 2009 • The Boston Marathon bombing suspect killed by police early Friday participated in the National Golden Gloves boxing tournament in Salt Lake City in May 2009 and was preparing to compete in this year's tournament, which is also at the Salt Palace Convention Center, May 13-18.

Utah billionaire Earl Holding dies at 86 • All of his work associates, even his son-in-law, invariably referred to him as "Mr. Holding," most respectfully too. Robert Earl Holding carried himself in a way that quietly demanded that respect. He died Friday at the age of 86.
