Utah forecast: Springtime warmth on the way..

Northern Utah's long-awaited spring warming is on the way, finally.

The National Weather Service, which began Tuesday with a Hard Freeze Warning in place for the northwestern corner that included the Salt Lake and Tooele Valleys, forecast high temperatures for Wednesday in the upper-50s and low-60s.

Southern Utahns escaped the sub-freezing overnight temperatures but had a windy early Tuesday ahead of Wednesday's forecast for highs in the mid- to upper-70s.

So, while the sunshine beckoned statewide, the Utah Division of Air Quality had more good news: the quality of the air we breathe was graded at "Green," or healthy well into the mid-week.

Salt Lake City's high temperature Wednesday was set at 59 degrees, up from Tuesday's forecast for 52; Ogden looked for 57 and 50 degrees; Provo 60 and 53; Logan 56 and 51; Wendover 59 and 53; Duchesne 57 and 49; Cedar City 64 and 56; St. George 79 and 74; and Moab 65 and 58 degrees.
