Axelrod to join Romney event. GOP targets Clinton over Benghazi. AP's Twitter hack.
Happy Wednesday. David Axelrod, the mastermind behind President Barack Obama's re-election, will join the candidate he defeated, Mitt Romney, for a retreat in Park City this summer. While the event was reported as a get-together of Romney's top donors, his people told The Salt Lake Tribune before they wanted it to be bipartisan and Axelrod's attendance certainly hits that note. Topping the news: House Republicans including Rep. Jason Chaffetz released a report yesterday that blames the State Department and in particular Hillary Clinton for the failure to secure the Benghazi, Libya embassy where Ambassador Chris Stevens and three Americans were killed. [WaTimes]
-> Utah's top Democrat Jim Dabakis says his party is negotiating its own changes to its caucus system. [Herald]
-> There was a tense moment of panic on Tuesday when the AP tweeted from their official account, "Two Explosions in the White House and Barack Obama is injured." However, AP reporters quickly jumped online to say that the outlet's accounts had been hacked. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney later confirmed that the president was fine and the White House was intact, but not before the panic caused the Dow to drop 100 points. [NYTimes]
