Re "Eco-activist says guilty verdict was a symbol of flawed system" (Tribune, April 24):
Tim DeChristopher disrupted a federal auction of questionable oil and gas leases to help protect the environment and our national parks, but he ended up making a bigger statement about our unfair justice system, especially in the case of eccentric U.S. District Judge Dee Benson, who sentenced DeChristopher more for his attitude than his acts.
I doubt DeChristopher can change the system, but by continuing to put the heat on Benson, maybe the judge will think twice about making biased rulings in the future. Anyway, one can only hope.
Keep speaking out, Tim DeChristopher. You've paid your dues, and more people are listening now.
