Cedar City • Marissa Mendenhall went 5-for-5 with six RBIs as Utah beat Southern Utah twice Wednesday, 14-2 in five innings and 11-6.
In Game 1, five Utah players had two hits or more. Mendenhall had three hits and five RBIs; Chalese Fankhauser was 3-for-4 with three runs; and Jackie Sweet hit a solo home run during a seven-run third inning for the Utes, who outhit the Thunderbirds 16-6.
In Game 2, Kristen Stewart hit a home run and Sweet blasted a grand slam during a five-run fourth inning for the Utes (23-24-1), who have won five of their past six games. Mariah Ramirez earned the win in relief, allowing just four hits and no runs in 32⁄3 innings.
Katie Olinger was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Mikkel Griffin had two hits and two RBIs for Southern Utah (15-28), which outhit Utah 13-12.

Loyola Marymount 4, BYU 2 • In San Diego, the Cougars finished the season 10-11 after losing in the first round of the West Coast Conference tournament. Aubrey Paul wib 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6 singles and the Cougars won the doubles point.
