David Steed has joined the Salt Lake City office of MWH Global, a strategic consulting, environmental and engineering firm. He will lead the North American natural resources development permitting practice for MWH.
Security Service Federal Credit Union has announced Greg Reed has been promoted to vice president of member service for its Mountain West region. He will be responsible for operations, community initiatives and business development. He joined the credit union in 2011 as assistant vice president for the southern Utah district.
Obstetrician and gynecologist Virginia Homewood has joined Copper Canyon Women's Center in West Valley City. The center is affiliated with Physician Group of Utah. A Salt Lake City native, Homewood earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
The law firm of Stoel Rives has announced the expansion of its health care practice group with the addition of three attorneys Stephanie A. Cason, Sarah L. Bimber and Kara F. Morse. Cason focuses on health care matters, with an emphasis on regulation, privacy, technology and data-protection issues. Bimber focuses on health care regulatory and corporate matters. Morse assists clients with corporate and regulatory issues, with an emphasis on health care delivery and payment matters.
Stephen E.W. Hale has been elected president of the Salt Lake City-based law firm of Parr Brown Gee & Loveless. He succeeds Heidi E. C. Leithead, who led the firm during the 2012 term. Hale is a trial lawyer and has practiced with Parr his entire legal career.
The Salt Lake Chapter of the BYU Management Society has named Robert C. Gay, a member of the First Quorum of Seventy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the recipient of its Distinguished Utahns award. Elder Gay serves as chairman of the church's Perpetual Education Fund and Employment Resource Services.
The accounting firm of Ernst & Young has announced the appointment of Shawn Goff as managing partner of its Salt Lake City practice. He succeeds David Jolley, who is relocating to San Jose, Calif., to assume the role of Ernst & Young LLP's West Region Managing Partner of Markets.

Drew Peterson, CEO of Veracity Networks, a Utah-based telecommunications provider, was named CEO of the Year by Utah Business magazine and honored along with other recipients during the magazine's recent awards celebration at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.
Ryan Bell, an executive with Florida-based CNL Financial Group, the parent company of Brighton Resort, was one of four recipients of 2013 leadership awards from the industry publication Ski Area Management. He was singled out for increasing the company's resort holdings from seven to 17 and for guiding the investment of $220 million in capital-expansion projects.
