Willie Jessop, the former spokesman for the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS), purchased the Hildale compound intended for Warren Jeffs in an auction on Thursday. Jessop, who has parted ways with the FLDS, paid $3.6 million for two parcels in the predominantly polygamous town. Between the two parcels, Jessop now owns a school, a row of apartments, a warehouse and three large homes. He spent Friday allowing former followers to see the inside of the compound, which they had previously not been allowed to enter.
