The weekend may have been warm and sunny, but make no mistake, spring is literally still in the air.

The warm weekend that began Saturday along the Wasatch Front should continue Sunday and spill over into the work week. In Salt Lake, Tooele and Utah counties, highs Sunday and Monday were expected to reach the upper 70s, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters predicted highs in the lower 70s for Davis and Weber counties Sunday and Monday.

But the balmy temperatures won't last. By Tuesday, sweater weather will reach the Wasatch Front, reducing highs to the mid-50s and lows to the mid-40s. Skies should become partly cloudy as well.

The cooler weather will last through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service, before warming up again later in the week.

In St. George, summer apparently arrived early, with highs topping 90 Monday and Tuesday. Southern Utahns will get a reprieve later in the week, with comparatively lower highs in the 70s and 80s beginning Wednesday and continuing through the rest of the week.

Moab will see ideal hiking and biking weather for most of the week, with highs in the mid 80s through Tuesday, followed by highs in the 60s later in the week.

Forecasters also expect good air quality throughout the state for the next several days, with the exception of Weber county which will have only moderate air quality Sunday.

In Salt Lake City, forecasters predicted a high of 77 Sunday and 76 Monday; Provo, 78 and 77, respectively; Ogden, 74 and 73; Tooele, 76 and 75; Logan, 72 and 71; Park City, 66 and 65; Wendover, 78 and 77; Duchesne, 77 and 76; St. George, 91 and 93; Cedar City, 78 and 81; Moab, 82 and 86.
