Police have released the name of a man injured Saturday in a motorcycle collision.

Andrew Gines, 24, was injured when his cruiser-style motorcycle collided with a friend's motorcycle on Interstate 15 near Bountiful, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. A 24-year-old female passenger on Gines' bike also suffered injuries. Police hadn't released her name Sunday morning.

The accident happened when both motorcycles were traveling at about 70 mph, according to UHP reports. Gines, of Kaysville, collided with the other motorcycle when it slowed for a car in another lane. Gines and his passenger each had one arm stuck between the rear tire and the frame of the other motorcycle. The two were transported via ambulance to University Hospital with road rash and lacerations.

Updates on the condition of Gines and his passenger were not immediately available Sunday morning.

Eddie Greer, 22, of Woods Cross, was driving the other motorcycle. He managed to stop without crashing and was uninjured.
