Your town in brief: Spring at the Kearns senior center, family concert in Taylorsville

Kearns

Spring boutique • A variety of items will be sold from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday at the Eddie P. Mayne Senior Center, 4851 W. 4715 South. Friday activities also will include a breakfast for $2 starting at 9 a.m. and Bingo Mania from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., $2 for all-day play and $1 for one session. The center serves adults 60 and older.

Taste of Kearns • This annual event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kearns Highs School, 5525 S. Cougar Lane (4800 West). Food will be served from 5:30 to 8 p.m. while supplies last.

Taylorsville

Help for kids • For the fifth year, JCPenney has given a $5,000 grant to the YMCA of Northern Utah to provide school-age children with assistance to attend after-school programs in Taylorsville and other parts of Salt Lake County.

Family fun concert • The Taylorsville symphony will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Eisenhower Junior High, 4351 S. Redwood Road. A donation of $5 is requested.
