Aerospace giant Boeing has presented Ogden-based Petersen Inc. with its "Supplier of the Year" award for its contributions to Boeing's overall success during 2012.

Petersen was one of 16 companies and one university to receive the award, which was presented during a ceremony at the San Diego Convention Center in mid-April.

"Our company was built on the principle of creating winning combinations, and the strategic partnership between Boeing and Petersen Inc. is truly a winning combination," said Jon Ballantyne, CEO of Petersen Inc., a machine shops that offers metal fabrication services. "Working together, we have substantially reduced costs for Boeing and have successfully implemented and maximized their 'lean initiatives' at our central tool storage facility."

Petersen was honored in the category of "Advantage" for exceeding cost-performance goals and objectives.
