Marilyn Manson and Glenn Beck make strange bedfellows.
Yet, both will be performing at Usana Amphitheatre this summer.
With some possible additions yet to be announced, Utah promoter United Concerts has announced the 2013 schedule for its annual summer concert series.
Besides hosting Manson's romp with Alice Cooper, Beck's "Man In the Moon" special (paired with a conservative rally the evening before), and Bob Dylan's much-anticipated return to Utah with special guests Wilco, My Morning Jacket and Ryan Bingham, the West Valley City venue will be the home for five huge country concerts featuring Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, and recently crowned Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan.
Country continues to be king in Utah, with the amphitheater's line-up not only including superstars as the headliners but promising, up-and-coming country artists including Kacey Musgraves and Flordia Georgia Line.
"We have a lot of guys in cowboy hats and pick-up trucks," said Jim McNeil, United Concerts president, of Utah audiences.
The appetite for country music is spurred by "very aggressive country stations" in the greater Salt Lake City area, said Teresa Mooney, vice president of marketing at United Concerts.
If the above shows don't float your boat, there are other concerts to consider.
Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds Five and Guster will all perform on June 20; 311 with bring its annual Unity tour (with Cypress Hill and G. Love & Special Sauce) on July 30, Rush's "Clockwork Angels Tour" will headline July 31; Dave Matthews Band will live it up on Aug. 27; and Alice in Chains and Jane's Addiction will lead the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival on Sept. 2.
Usana Amphitheatre will also continue its first-of-its-kind "Green Initiative" partnership with Rocky Mountain Recycling and its teams of volunteers throughout the season. The venue was able to recycle 9.8 tons in 2012, which helps attract environmentally conscious artists such as Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson, Mooney said.
United Concerts, which has no plans to host shows at The Gallivan Center this summer, will also help produce Jason Aldean's July 27 show at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy.
