Northern Utahns were breaking out their jackets again as the weather grew windy and colder heading into the mid-week.
The recent weekend's balmy spring weather was a fond memory. Indeed, the National Weather Service issued a Freeze Watch for the state's northwest corner an area including the northern Wasatch Front, the Great Salt Lake Desert and mountains, Logan, Brigham City and Ogden through Wednesday morning.
High temperatures for northern Utah Wednesday were to be in the low-50s, down from the near-60 readings forecast for Tuesday. Winds in the 10-20 mph range added a chill factor.
A Wind Advisory was in effect through late Tuesday night for southern Utah, with gusts up to 45 mph expected. Temperatures, meantime, were expected to dip from Tuesday's upper-80s to the upper-70s on Wednesday in Utah's Dixie.
Air quality statewide was rated "Green," or healthy, according to the Utah Division of Air Quality.
Salt Lake City's high on Wednesday was to hit 53, down from Tuesday's 60 degrees; Ogden looked for 52 and 57 degrees, respectively; Provo 54 and 63; Logan 51 and 54; Wendover 55 and 62; Duchesne 52 and 65; Cedar City 60 and 79; St. George 78 and 92; and Moab 62 and 87 degrees.
