LDS and 'Hannibal'

KSL-Channel 5, Salt Lake City's NBC affiliate owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, just announced it will no longer air "Hannibal," a prequel to "Silence of the Lambs," ("KSL yanks violent 'Hannibal' off its schedule," Tribune, April 30).

I'm sick and tired of LDS Church censors taking potshots at NBC shows I like. If KSL refuses to broadcast NBC programing, it should cancel its NBC affiliation and go independent so another station can honor the affiliate agreement, providing viewers the programing that we should at least have the option of watching.

Religious fanatics have no business running a nonreligious, secular TV station.
