Columnist George F. Will's current fascination with the lies told in 1942 to justify the shameful internment of Americans of Japanese ancestry is laudable ("Internment was justified by a series of lies," Opinion, April 26).
I'm willing to bet, however, that we'll have to wait more than 71 years before a hardcore conservative with the stature of Will writes a column about how the war in Iraq was justified by a series of lies. A serious piece about the lies told to justify the war in Iraq would have been more topical, with the widely celebrated opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum — the man responsible for the Iraq war lies.
