The Weber County Sheriff's Department has identified a welder who fell to his death from the roof of a West Haven roofing project.

Sheriff's Lt. Mark Lowther said that Nathan Wilkinson, 35, of Harrisville, died at the scene of his 25-foot fall Tuesday morning.

Lowther said Wilkinson was installing metal roofing at an agricultural business at 2873 W. 1800 South. He reportedly had been wearing a safety harness, but had disconnected it to retrieve something when a gust of wind hit, lifting a sheet of metal and knocking him off the roof.

Wilkinson was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.
