Valley Mental Health has added three members to its management team. Travis H. Jackson was hired as business development director, and Gwen Fonarow, a certified public accountant, as chief financial officer. Laura M. Wall is the new foundation director of the Valley Foundation, the fund-raising arm of Valley Mental Health, and will direct public relations and marketing.

BHB Engineers, a Utah-based structural engineering firm, has announced the promotion of Brett Goodman to associate. He joined BHB in 2006 and holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Utah. He became a licensed professional engineer in 2011.

The Women Lawyers of Utah has named Heidi E. C. Leithead as Utah Woman Lawyer of the Year. Leithead is an employment law specialist with the Salt Lake City-based firm of Parr Brown Gee & Loveless and a past president of that firm.

America First Credit Union has named Dave Stacey senior manager of treasury services. He has worked for America First since 1983. Nineteen-year veteran Rabecca Johnson has been selected as the new manager of payment services. She most recently served as the payment services assistant manager. Lloyd Barnett has been named manager of deposit products. He was hired as a consumer loan officer in 1998 at the Salt Lake metro office and has been serving as the assistant manager of the deposit products department since 2012.

The Utah Intergenerational Welfare Commission has appointed former LDS Presiding Bishop H. David Burton to its board and to serve as the chairman of the Intergenerational Poverty Advisory Committee. Both groups were formed to work with academic experts, advocacy groups, nonprofit corporations, local governments and religious institutions to help Utah children who are victims of intergenerational poverty escape that cycle.

Axiom Financial, a Sandy-based mortgage company, has announced that Matt Maher has been promoted to vice president of risk management and capital markets. He has been with the firm since 2004. Robert Buchanan has been named to the senior leadership team as director of sales. He has more than 15 years of experience in business development, marketing and sales within the financial services and mortgage industries.

Lynn R. Webster, a nationally recognized Utah physician who specializes in pain management, has been named president of the American Academy of Pain Medicine. Webster was instrumental in leading the development of the academy's Safe Opioid Prescribing program, which was rolled out in 2012 and developed over a period of several years. In that time, overdoses across the state have declined by 28 percent. The American Academy of Pain Medicine is the premiere medical association for pain physicians and their treatment teams. It has more than 2,400 members.
