The second-ranked Westminster College men's lacrosse team begins its Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference Tournament title defense Friday in Grand Junction, Colo.

On Friday, the Griffins (12-5) begin semi-final play against the winner of the quarterfinal game between Northern Colorado and Western State (Colo.) at 10 a.m. on Walker Field at Colorado Mesa University. If the Griffins advance, the championship game will be played at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Westminster, the two-time defending champions, have won the title four times in the six years they have played in the event. The Griffins earned a bye into the semi-finals after winning the team's seventh straight RMLC division championship.

Collin Madsen leads the Griffins with 64 points, with 41 goals with 23 assists. He also has won 65-of-100 faceoffs with 64 ground balls and 63 shots on goal. Kyle Postler has recorded 63 points and he leads the team with 35 assists. Jake Arthur leads all Griffins with 42 goals scored and he has taken a team-best 101 shots.

Erik Gronseth has a 7-1 record this season with a .616 save percentage. The freshman has made a team-best 85 saves while allowing 53 goals with a 6.71 goals-against-average.
