In contrast to Scott Christian Bauer ("LDS and 'Hannibal,'" Forum, May 1), I applaud KSL-Ch. 5 and its decision to cease airing NBC's violent "Hannibal." I am not Latter-day Saint, and I do not see the cancelation as an LDS attempt to censor cruel, ugly and disgusting TV.
Television shows such as "Hannibal" do not portray natural human conditions. The torture and dismembering of humans is not a normal daily activity.
I would much rather watch shows that portray normal affections of love and sexuality, like "The Bridges of Madison County."
I thank KSL for making a wise decision not to air the show, therefore preventing children who may watch uncensored TV from being exposed to violence and criminal acts. Bravo, KSL!
