In "Spray at your own risk" (Opinion, May 5), physician Brian Moench made important points about the use of pesticides. We support his fight to protect our delicate planet from the destructive effects of pesticides and other harmful chemicals.
However, Moench accused Mount Calvary Cemetery of fouling the environment with pesticides. I would like to clear the air: Mount Calvary does not use pesticides.
Moench may not realize that Mount Calvary shares common borders with two other cemeteries. In future, I hope he researches who is actually using the pesticides before citing in a public statement such use as a bad example.
The next time Moench rides through our beautiful, pesticide-free grounds, I encourage him to stop by the office for more information. He could even help keep our cemetery pesticide-free by making a generous donation!
