Bees lose club-record ninth straight on the road

The Zephyrs broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning with three consecutive doubles to defeat the Salt Lake Bees in New Orleans.

Salt Lake's Trent Oeltjen hit two home runs in the game — one a solo shot during the first inning and the second in the seventh. Roberto Lopez was the only other Bees' player to register a hit.

Matt Shoemaker (2-5) allowed three runs and seven hits in seven innings for the Bees, who have lost five straight games and a franchise-record ninth straight loss on the road.

The Bees continue their road series in New Orleans with games at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday against the Zephyrs.
