File this under — Who Cares? Randy Jackson has announced that he's leaving "American Idol" at the end of this season.

The last of the original judges and always the most expendable, he nonetheless outlasted Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul. And Jackson survived the string of Simon- and Paula-wannabes that followed.

But he was best known for calling everyone "dawg." Which is not exactly a huge legacy.

Given that the show's ratings are a fraction of what they used to be, this hardly qualifies as news.It does, however, seem more like a losing football coach who announces he's retiring before he can be fired.

Word is that Fox may well clean house and bring in an entirely new set of judges next season.

Will that stop the bleeding? Probably not.
