A Utah County stretch of Interstate 15 had not just one bad case of crabs Friday morning, but tons of the crustacean delicacy spread on the asphalt like a sashimi feast fit for Paul Bunyan.

Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said "the majority" of the 75,000-pound load of frozen crab being hauled by a semi-trailer rig spilled when the truck and its trailer rolled on a curve of the southbound off-ramp to Spanish Fork.

Johnson said it appeared the semi's driver had trouble negotiating a right turn, over-corrected and then tipped over at 5:36 a.m. The rig, owned by SDI Logistics of Ontario, Canada, struck a guard rail and sign, which tore open the trailer.

The 40-year-old male driver and a 48-year-old male passenger escaped with minor injuries, for which they were treated at an area hospital.

It took crews five hours to clean up the mess, with traffic through the off-ramp restricted to one lane.

No citations were immediately issued, as the accident remained under investigation.
