State colleges: BYU baseball edges Utah

A double in the bottom of the eighth inning cleared the way for BYU to break a tie and beat Utah 5-4 in Provo. In a rally attempt, Utah loaded the bases in the ninth inning, but the Cougars got a strikeout, ending the game.

BYU's Jacob Hannemann went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.

Bret Helton led the Utes with a 2-for-3 effort with two doubles and two runs scored.

Men's lacrosse

Westminster 15, Indiana Tech 6 • The Griffins' win in Greenville, S.C., will send them to the NAIA national championship semifinals. No. 2-seeded Westminster outshot Indiana Tech 39-24, with 32 of those shots on cage.
