It is good to see that The Trib is informing us (at last) about Dr. Hermit Gosnell, who was just convicted (and sentenced) for murdering three newborn babies along with a host of other crimes against women and newborn and unborn babies ("Convicted Philadelphia abortion doctor gets life in prison," Tribune, May 15).
One of the issues that seems to evade those who favor abortion is the dilemma about the difference between killing a baby who is not yet born and one who is just born.
On the legal side, states have laws which prescribe the differences. I get that. And I will continue to work to change these laws to better protect unborn babies and to support the women who have made this unwise choice.
On the moral/ethical and biological issue, including the ability to feel human pain, I do not get it. What is the difference, morally and pain-wise, between killing a newborn and an unborn? Both are human life in different stages. Both feel real pain.
Instead of deciding for them, shouldn't we help both live so they can choose their own path in "pursuit of happiness"?
