Three recent Utah contestants from 'The Voice' will kick off open house at a new artist development company in Draper

The three recent Utah contestants from TV's hit show "The Voice" will help kick off the Open House at a new artist development company for musicians in Draper May 22.

Ryan Innes, the duo from Midas Whale and Amy Whitcomb will appear at a 11:30 a.m. press conference talk abiut Refinement Records, what is being called a "360-music development concept."

All three contestants will sing at the open house at 11:30 a.m. during the 11-1 p.m. event at 12244 South Business Park Drive in Draper.A special announcement about the Utah "Voice" musicians – and a forthcoming summer tour – will be made at the press conference.

Adam Reader, president of Refinement Records, said when a new artist or an established singer or musician comes through the door at their new, fully-equipped facility, they will find everything they need to sharpen and improve their career trajectory. Reader's message to artists: "You can go big without a record label. If you have the talent, ambition, and confidence, you can accomplish anything. Big labels really don't develop artists anymore and are more focused on selling merchandise and image over music. We put the artist first and that's why we succeed."The open house will also feature performances by Reader's group The Terks, who have been No. 1 on the national and global jazz charts at Reverb.com. The Terks have recently released songs on Reverb from their new 15-tack CD of jazz music and received more than 100,000 streams.Refinement Records will offer services that range from voice technique and training, songwriting and song interpretation, to performance training, marketing and promotion. "We provide every tool the performer needs to survive and succeed in the new music marketplace," said Adam Reader, president of Refinement Records. The new facility includes sound rooms, recording rooms, a video room with green-screen features, workshop space and a stage.Among the experts who will be working with the Refinement Records team is Andrew Lane, the Billboard-winning producer who has produced records that have sold in excess of 50 million copies. Lane has worked with Drake, Brittany Spears, Lil' Wayne, and Tony Braxton, as well as the Hannah Montana and The Princess Diaries productions. Tom Trbovich has produced and directed "We Are the World" shows and has worked with Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, the Eagles, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, and Ray Charles. Both will be on the Refinement Records board.Founded one year ago by Adam Reader and Sammy Schultz, VP of Artist Management, Refinement Records, the label has been promoting Utah artists and bands with album development, videos, press kits, live concerts and appearances.
