In "Pushy liberals" (Forum, May 21), Patricia Sorensen is upset that "pushy" gays sue good Christian business owners who refuse to provide flowers, cakes, limos, venues for a gay wedding because of their religious belief. Incredibly, she argues that "no one needs to agree with everything someone else believes in."

So if you don't agree with Muslims or if you don't like blacks or Italians, then it's OK not to cater their wedding? Whether or not you agree with or like someone has no bearing: It's against the law to discriminate in business based on religion, creed, color, race or national origin and, in a growing number of places, sexual identity.

No one is bashing Jesus or Christianity, as Sorensen asserts, and it's wrong to claim your religious belief as a reason to bash gays, which is what you're doing when you refuse to cater a gay marriage.

What would Jesus do? He'd treat others as he wanted to be treated.
