Sandy police are looking for a cross-dressing bank robber.

The male walked into Zions Bank at 8955 S. 700 East on Wednesday at 4:53 p.m., right before it closed, wearing a white blouse, white hat and white sunglasses, according to a Sandy police news release.

"He placed a light blue purse on the counter and told the teller to put all of the money in the purse," the release adds. He did not threaten violence or show any weapons, the release adds.

He then left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Tellers followed him and saw him get into a newer model, two-door Toyota Solara, that was forest green with gold emblems and gold paint for the vehicle model name, according to the release. The Solara also has tinted windows and had a temporary license plate over the actual plate.

Anyone with information about the suspect can call Sandy police at 801-568-7214.
