Utah forecast: Warmer, breezy and sneezy

The forecast for Utah moving toward the weekend: warm, breezy and sneezy.

Temperatures in northern Utah were to range into the low 70s Friday, echoing the forecast in place for Thursday. In the southern reaches of the state the forecast was for highs in the mid- to upper-80s both days. The entire state was due for periodic buffeting by winds anywhere from 10 to 40 mph.

All that atmospheric mixing couldn't be good news for allergy sufferers, though. While the Utah Division of Air Quality graded the air at "Green," or healthy for breathing heading toward the week's end, the Intermountain Allergy & Asthma pollen index rated mold, mulberry, maple, box elder, oak and grass all off the charts as of Thursday.

Salt Lake City's high on Friday was officially predicted at 70 degrees, up 1 degree from Thursday; Ogden 68 and 66 degrees, respectively; Provo 74s; Logan 66 and 67; Wendover 68 and 65; Duchesne 73 and 79; Cedar City 75 and 73; St. George 87 and 84; and Moab 92 and 91 degrees.
