PCL baseball: Bees win last game of Sacramento series

Salt Lake won the final matchup in the four-game PCL series with host Sacramento 2-1 on Friday, nearly shutting the River Cats out before allowing one hit in the bottom of the eighth.

Kole Calhoun led the Bees with two hits and one RBI, and he also scored the Bees' first run, in the third inning, when Efren Navarro grounded out into a double play.

Salt Lake's insurance run came in the seventh, when Calhoun knocked in Andrew Romine.

Billy Bucker earned the win for Salt Lake, throwing six scoreless innings with five strikeouts. He allowed just three hits.

Ryan Brasier earned his fourth save of the season, with two strikeouts in 12⁄3 innings.

Salt Lake outhit Sacramento 10-7.

The Bees return home to host the Colorado Sky Sox for a four-game series starting Saturday.
