NBA notes: Heat PF Andersen suspended for Game 6

Chris Andersen was suspended Friday by the NBA for his altercation with Tyler Hansbrough, leaving the Miami Heat without one of their best big men as they try to finish off the Indiana Pacers in Game 6. The league also upgraded Andersen's foul to a Flagrant 2, which would have meant an automatic ejection.

Andersen knocked Hansbrough to the floor from behind with 9:02 left in the second quarter Thursday, then shoved him backward after Hansbrough got up. Andersen still wouldn't back away when a referee stepped in, and the league said in a statement that he "resisted efforts to bring the altercation to an end."

Andersen has made all 15 shots from the field in the series, and the Heat could miss the Birdman's size Saturday against the bigger Indiana front line.

Kings sale finalized

A new owner is in place. A new coach is on the way. And for the first time in 14 years, Sacramento Kings fans can celebrate a new era.

The Maloof family completed the sale of the Kings and Sleep Train Arena to a group led by TIBCO Software chairman Vivek Ranadive on Friday, officially transferring ownership of the NBA franchise. Ranadive's group acquired a 65 percent controlling interest in the team at a total franchise valuation of more than $534 million, topping the NBA record of $450 million that Joe Lacob and Peter Guber paid for the Golden State Warriors in 2010.

GM Ujiri leaves Denver for Toronto

Toronto lured Masai Ujiri away from the Denver Nuggets on Friday, giving the Raptors the reigning NBA executive of the year and a rising star among the league's front office ranks.

It will be a homecoming of sorts for the 42-year-old Ujiri, a native of Nigeria and the first African-born GM in America's four major sports. Ujiri was the assistant GM for the Raptors for three seasons before leaving for the Nuggets in 2010.

Bucks hire Drew as head coach

Four days after Larry Drew was replaced in Atlanta, the Milwaukee Bucks have swooped in to scoop him up.

The Bucks announced they reached an agreement to hire Drew as their new coach. General manager John Hammond said Drew's track record in Atlanta and experience made him the right choice.

Drew was 128-102 in Atlanta, and the Hawks reached the postseason in each of his three seasons.
