Sunday's high temperatures proved too hot for Interstate 15 near Bluffdale.

The near-90 degree afternoon caused the two left southbound lanes of I-15 near 14600 South to buckle, said Utah Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Susan Thomas. The damaged road caused tire blowouts on a couple of vehicles although no one was reported injured.

The carpool lane and the lane next to it are closed, and Thomas did not know when they would reopen.
