Salt Lake City police are looking for an armed man who forced a Dollar Store employee to empty the business safe of cash.

SLCPD Lt. Mike Hamideh, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation, would not say what kind of weapon — firearm, knife, club, etc. — the suspect used to threaten the store employee during the holdup about 9 a.m. Monday at 389 W. 1830 South.

Police said the suspect was described as a white male, 20-30 years old, about 5-foot-10, with a thin build and a light reddish-blond beard. The man wore a black jacket, black pants, black and white shoes, and a black beanie-style cap.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call SLCPD at 801-799-3000.
