Recalls for bean bag chairs, 2013 Subaru Outback and Legacy models

The following products and vehicles were recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Unless otherwise indicated, discontinue use of the products immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund. Contact a dealer for your model to see if it is included in the recall. The dealer will tell you what to do.

Product • Anywhere Lounger Bean Bag Chairs, sold at W.S. Badcock, Value City Furniture, Nebraska Furniture Mart and online at www.groupon.com from June 2012 to February 2013 for about $100.

Problem • Chairs without a permanent zipper closure allow young children to unzip, ingest or inhale the small beads inside the bag, posing a suffocation and strangulation hazard. Consumers should immediately take the Anywhere Lounger away from children, inspect the chair to see if the exterior zipper can be opened and, if so, contact Powell Co. to receive a free Safety Enhancement Repair Kit. Vehicles • Subaru 2013 Outback and Legacy

Problem • In the affected vehicles, the inner and outer shafts of the steering column assembly may become disengaged from one another. If they do, the driver could lose the ability to steer. Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering column assembly with a new one, free of charge. The recall began May 14.
