Due to the rising air pollution in Utah, the state government should be more proactive than simply saying "don't drive." Our state leaders should be cultivating new ideas on the issue, not simply sitting in their offices, hidden behind desks, watching as Utah's pollution worsens.
Many people cannot afford the high prices of yearlong bus passes. The government should make this green option more attractive for lower-income people by providing free public transportation for those who can't afford it.
Many people want to help alleviate the constant pressure from rising levels of pollution by driving less, but they simply can't afford the cost of a bus pass. It is time for our lawmakers to step out from behind their desks and actually do something about this growing problem.
