The University of Utah's office dedicated to marketing the school's research has changed its name.

The former Technology Commercialization Office is now Technology and Venture Commercialization, a change that empathizes its role in both licensing research to existing companies and in creating startups.

The name isn't the only thing changing. In April, the U. announced it was eliminating a vice president-level position dedicated to technology commercialization and creating two advisory boards, one from university faculty and the other from outside businesses.
