Missoula, Mont. • University of Montana basketball player Spencer Coleman has been dismissed from the team.

The school announced the dismissal in a brief statement Friday, without giving a reason.

On May 30, Coleman was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence while in February he had been charged with speeding and being a minor in possession of alcohol.

The 6-foot-6 forward from Eugene, Ore., played in 32 games as a junior, averaging 6.6 points and 3.7 rebounds as Montana won the Big Sky Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

He played one season at Montana after transferring from Eastern Arizona College.
