Your town in brief: Farmers markets, stuffed animal sleepovers

Stuffed-Animal Sleepover • Children can drop off a favorite stuffed animal, doll or toy any time Friday at the Salt Lake City Library's main branch, 210 E. 400 South, and return Saturday at 9 a.m. to enjoy doughnuts and find out what shenanigans their inanimate buddies engaged in after hours. A slide show will document their adventures.

Meander through the markets • On Saturday, the IRC Farmers Stand opens at Horizonte School at 1234 S. Main St. from 1 to 4 p.m. Then on Sunday, the People's Market is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the International Peace Gardens, 900 W. 1000 South, featuring free kids crafts and adult wood-carving classes, fresh produce, prepared foods, art and entertainment. Food stamps are accepted as payment at both locations and will be matched at the People's Market up to $10. Drop by the main booth to receive two $1 tokens for every $1 to be spent in food stamps.
