Auto racing • Helio Castroneves raced to his first IndyCar victory of the season, leading the final 132 laps Saturday night for his fourth career victory at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. Castroneves also won at the 1½-mile, high-banked track in 2004, 2006 and 2009. Ryan Hunter-Reay of Andretti Motorsports finished second, more than 5 seconds back. The victory lifted Castroneves into the series points lead, after he entered the night tied with Marco Andretti. Andretti, who led the first 53 laps after starting on the front row, finished fifth. He dropped to second, 22 points behind Castroneves.
Spain beats Haiti in Florida exhibition
soccer • Santiago Cazorla and Cesc Fabregas scored early goals as World Cup champion Spain beat Haiti 2-1 in an exhibition in Miami Gardens, Fla. Playing the first of a two-city U.S. tour, Spain controlled the ball and made repeated attacks on goal throughout the first half and withstood a spirited second-half response from Haiti.
Spain will play Ireland on Tuesday at Yankee Stadium and then leave for Brazil to play in the Confederations Cup, which runs from June 15-30.
Ottawa CFL team called RedBlacks
canadian football • The RedBlacks are Ottawa's newest CFL franchise. The franchise group officially unveiled its name and logo Saturday amid much fanfare, a year before the team will take to the field at a brand new stadium at Landsdowne Park. The colors and large "R" in the logo, images that were leaked online last month, are reminiscent of the defunct Rough Riders franchise, while the circular saw blade ties into Ottawa's lumber history.
Germany's Huck keeps cruiserweight title
boxing • German cruiserweight Marco Huck retained the WBO title, outpointing Britain's Ola Afolabi in Berlin.
Judge Lahcen Oumghar of the Netherlands scored it 114-114. But Deon Dwarte of South Africa and John Madfis of the United States agreed Huck won, scoring it 115-113 and 117-111, respectively. Huck improved to 36-2-1, and Afolabi dropped to 19-3-4.
