Pay attention!

I have been astounded at the reaction to the "revelations" about the government monitoring phones calls. Have the people who are outraged never heard of the Patriot Act? Do they not know what it says? It says the government can do what has now been "revealed"it has been doing.
Why are people surprised about this? Maybe complaining to their elected officials at the time the act was passed would have been a good idea. Maybe complaining when it was renewed would have been a good idea. Maybe paying attention to what goes on would be a good idea.
Maybe now we can get this vile law repealed.
