A 3-year-old Syracuse girl was reportedly in improved condition Tuesday, the day after she was injured when a dresser and television fell on her at home.

The toddler had been flown to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City Monday morning in critical condition.

However, Syracuse Fire Chief Eric Froerer said Tuesday he had heard the girl was doing better and is expected to recover.

Paramedic firefighters rushed to the child's home near 800 West and 2500 South about 9 a.m. Monday.

It was not known whether the furniture and TV were pulled down by the child, or fell for some other reason, Froerer said.

The TV was described as an older, analog tube style that is markedly heavier than flat-screen models.

The girl's identity was not being released.
