NFL • The Indianapolis Colts are trying to improve their running game. Ahmad Bradshaw is just the latest piece of the puzzle.
The Indianapolis Colts agreed to terms with the unrestricted free agent on Tuesday, adding a veteran running back to their crowded backfield. He will join the team Wednesday under a contract whose terms were not disclosed.
The 27-year-old Bradshaw spent seven seasons with the New York Giants, but left the team in February one of a handful of high-salaried players released as part of roster purge intended to clear up salary cap room and bring in younger talent. He ran for 1,015 yards on 221 carries (4.6 yards per carry) and scored six touchdowns last season but missed four games with injuries.
• Vonta Leach was released Tuesday by the Baltimore Ravens, who failed to agree on a restructured contract with the three-time All-Pro fullback.
Leach was an integral part of a running game that helped the Ravens become champions last season. Paving the way for standout halfback Ray Rice, Leach made the Pro Bowl in each of his two seasons with Baltimore.

Grabavoy was streaking down the left side of the field Saturday, when Galaxy midfielder Marcelo Sarvas made a challenge and Grabavoy fell to the grass. The referee ultimately showed Sarvas a yellow card.
But after the MLS Disciplinary Committee reviewed the play, Grabavoy was fined an undisclosed amount for "simulation."
