A world of fun • The annual WestFest celebration — which celebrates the city's establishment and its residents' various cultural backgrounds — will take place Thursday through Sunday at Centennial Park, 5415 W. 3100 South. Visit www.westfest.org for more information on the fun, including carnival rides, entertainment, fireworks, international cuisine, a parade, a reptile show and more.

Project Cornucopia • Numerous organizations will be at this one-stop venue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Granger Christian Church, 3232 W. 4100 South, to offer help. Resources will be available for assistance with financial, employment, health and family concerns.

Taylorsville

Help beautify the trail • Volunteers are wanted to help keep the Jordan River Parkway Trail clean by picking up trash and removing noxious weeds. The Jordan River Commission is hosting regular volunteer workdays from now to the end of September, including one from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday, beginning at Freedom Shrine, 4500 S. 565 West.
