Ticketing for revenue

I live in the Avenues and I see that the police frequently set up a speed trap on 11th Avenue across from the cemetery (25 mph zone) where there are no resiĀdences and little chance of an accident. This is obviously a great revenue-generating location, but enforcement there does little to improve safety.

On the other hand, I risk life every time I go through the intersection at South Temple and I Street. The number of cars that run red lights is astounding.

Yet the officers focus on the not very dangerous, but undoubtedly more lucrative, street while essentially ignoring a hugely hazardous intersection.

I have the utmost respect for our police, but their efforts would be better spent in putting safety above revenue.
