Utah Arts Festival: To write of grief and love

What would you say if no one knew you were saying it?
That's the question that fuels a pair of "Mailbox Diaries" at the Utah Arts Festival.
The two mailboxes are the brainchild of poet Melissa Bond (who organizes the festival's Literary Arts program), and are located in the traffic circle on the east side of the City-County Building.
The mailboxes bear labels, "Grief" and "Love." Inside each is a journal and a pen. People are invited to write their thoughts about the subjects of grief and love.
The entries that have been written so far are touching, and often confessional in tone. They speak to the healing power of unburdening oneself of hard memories.
