An Indiana State University librarian was named the new dean of the University of Utah's J. Willard Marriott Library Monday.

Alberta Davis Comer has served as a dean and associate dean at ISU's Cunningham Memorial Library since 2004, where she developed a three-university academic library consortium and partnered with a local public library to establish an integrated online catalog. She holds a master's degree in library science from Indiana University-Bloomington and has served as an editor of the journal Indiana Libraries.

Comer starts Aug. 19, replacing Joyce Ogburn, who left to join the Appalachian State University libraries.
