In" Buying a name" (Forum, June 24), Victor Boyd laments the renaming of the Capitol Theatre as the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre and asks, "Why must rich people have their name on everything?"

In the past, I have enjoyed many performances at the Capitol Theatre. I hope Boyd has also and is as pleased as I am that the needed renovations are going forward.

Salt Lake has many good families who contribute to the arts and other worthy causes.

Boyd is entitled to his opinion about the naming and the "paltry" $4.5 million donation; however, we should just say "thank you" and enjoy. Besides, I like the new name.
