BYU football gets two more 2014 commitments, now has nine

Two more members of the class of 2014 — players who will be seniors in high school this fall — have committed to the BYU football program, bringing the total to nine. Teancum "Tico" Fuga, younger brother of former BYU noseguard Romney Fuga, committed to BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall on Monday night. Teancum Fuga is a 6-foot-2, 320-pound defensive end from Edison High in Huntington Beach, Calif. Over the weekend, the Cougars received a commitment from Sione Takitaki, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive end from Menifee, Calif., and Heritage High School. Fuga is expected to go on an LDS Church mission prior to enrolling at BYU. He reportedly had offers from Utah State, Boise State and Utah. He participated in BYU's camp last week and received the offer on its first day. Takitaki's commitment was somewhat of a surprise, considering he had offers from several other schools, including San Diego State, Wisconsin, Washington State and Nevada.Takitaki is considered the No. 43 prospect in California, according to ESPN.com's Recruiting Nation.
