Following the Supreme Court's decisions Wednesday on gay marriage, the president called to congratulate the plaintiffs — and it was captured live on TV.

The plaintiffs in the California gay marriage case listen in.The White House confirmed that Obama made the call while on a flight to Africa, reports AP.The president also supported the high court's decision that rules the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional. Obama said the court "has righted a wrong, and our country is better off for it."
