As the eighth and final season of "Dexter" begins, six months have passed since Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) killed Lt. LaGuerta (Lauren Velez) to protect Dexter (Michael C. Hall). Dexter seems OK; Deb is a mess — and there's a new killer out there scooping out pieces of people's brains. It's icky, it's cool and it remains compelling.
